Optimising Ecommerce Websites for SEO
We know from experience that listing hundreds of products on an e-commerce website will not create traffic to the site it doesn’t work like that.
Optimising an ecommerce website SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is more of a challenge than it is for a corporate website which has unique content.
Site organisation and correct descriptions is what works.
We write quality accurate descriptions that enable the customer to understand all the benefits of the product so that they can buy and enjoy and not return the product.
A common error on sites we inherit is one or both of the following are missing, the description and meta data.
Also we have seen sites being built often Magento sites with descriptions written by someone who clearly do not understand the product. The owner then spends money on SEO to compensate but does not realise that reason is the site structure and the product descriptions. The result of this inadequate preparation and implementation is a very poor hit rate.
Recently on a site we are maintaining after correcting the errors the products went from not being ranked to page 1 and 2.
